Blog Baby Blog

This page is dedicated to all the new bloggers that don't want to spend their entire summer searching for tutorials on Google.

Seriously, I think I've spent a million hours since I started this blog trying to figure out how to do stuff on my blog.  So, let my pain be your gain.  When I figure out new stuff, I'll add it on here.  If you want to know how to do something, just leave a comment or e-mail.  I'll add it on!  I even made a fake blog so I could take screencasts of me doing stuff without accidentally deleting my entire blog.

This summer, I wrote a series of six Blog Baby Blog posts.  You can find them here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.

  3. This is so great!!! Thank you so much!! Did you do your own background too? I would love to see the tutorial on that. I'm sure you've already done it, but I missed it since I am so freaking excited about everything else and I'm trying to contain myself while my husband is sleeping...it is 12:38 in the morning..eekk!!! I am loving your site. Thank you so much for the encouragement and help!!! saunderslovelies.blogspot.com

    1. I didn't make it, it's a digital paper I used for a background. I do have a video about how to add in a background, though! So glad this page was helpful!

    2. I am also using digital scrapbook paper, did you make your own header for this blog? I followed the instructions, which were sooooooo perfect and easy to understand, but I can't get mine to go be the width of the white part of my blog where my posts go. I notice that yours goes all the way across...do you know what I could be doing wrong? I have tried resizing it, but it that's as big as I can get it on my blog. I have also tried taking the button (shrink to fit page) off, but when I do that, it is wayyyy to big...I'm about to go crazy...
I decided to go ahead and ask because it seems that when I do that, I figure it out...lol:)

    3. Thank you so much! I have been able to figure out how to make a grab my button and grab other people button to post on my page as my favorite blogs. I tried to do the add a post picture but I could not get it to work....maybe because my template was a freebie.

  8. OH MY GOSH!!!! You did it!! You were able to teach eme how to do it and I was actually successful! I am so proud of myself for finally getting it figured out... It has seriously been months since I have been trying and I sat down, went through your tutorials on backgrounds and headers and I did it! I still need to work on a button and a few other things but I am just so glad I got it figured out! I will probably change my design a bajillion times before I find one I am head over heels in love with, but I got one up and running tonight in about 3 hours! Thank you so much!

  10. Hi Megan! You know I LOVE all your help. Here is a topic maybe you could add (okay so I need help with this and maybe other people do too)???? How do I add a picture of a document onto my blog? All I can figure out is adding a link, but not a picture of it. Does this question even make sense??

    Thanks

    1. Tracey, I know you didn't ask me, but if you haven't gotten a response yet, I'll tell you what I do. Whenever I make something in Word or Google Docs or whatever, I take a screen shot pic of it and then upload the pic onto my blog post then I link it to the actual document. Hope this helps!

  15. I LOVE this blog!! Seriously you are amazing! I have never had blogger stuff explained to me in such uncomplicated language. Before I would make changes to my design with baited breath and my heart beating out of my chest cause I was sure I had done something wrong and irreversible. Then I'd have to e-mail the person who designed my blog and ask her to fix the mess I'd made, can you imagine? But now I just kept your page open and my blogger page beside it and then did everything I wanted to do. Thank you :)

  22. This is a wonderful resource to new bloggers! I've had my blog for about 6 months but I am just now getting more into the design aspect of it. I did have a question for you- I've been struggling through tutorials that show you how to add a button that links to my facebook page but so far I've had no luck. It has to deal with HTML codes which are foreign to me. Do you have a facebook page for your blog? Do you know how to get the button on your blog to drive traffic to facebook? Any help would be welcomed. I enjoyed all your tutorials thus far! And I did pinterest stalk myself- SOO cool to see my teaching lessons pinned by others!!!

The url I have now doesn't match. I wanted to add a link to my blog, but when I tried the html code it said it had no matching opening tage.
