About Me

Hello, hello!  Welcome to I Teach. What's Your Super Power?

This is my 16th year of teaching.  It's gone like this: 3rd, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 4th, 4th, 4th, 3rd,  reading small group instruction, and now Literacy Coach.

Let's just say I'm an expert at packing.

I'm a proud LSU grad. Geaux Tigers!

I was kidnapped and brought kicking and screaming to Texas in 2009. I'm mostly over the trauma.

I have a wonderful husband (we'll overlook that moving thing) and two sweet daughters that are the source of most of my laughter. And I have the most awesome parents ever. They live ten minutes away and help me juggle two kids, full time job, blogging, blog designing, TPTing, and traveling husband.

No pictures of the mister.  He believes fancy pants business men should stay off the Internet.

Our family has two dogs and a cat.  One 50+ pound dog that firmly believes she is a lap dog, one insanely long even for a dachshund dog, and one fluffy, water loving cat.

I love being a teacher, using technology, and can't believe how lucky I've been in my teaching career.  After being in the classroom for 14 years and trying to take a year off (didn’t last), I spent last year working with small reading groups.  This year, I am so excited for a big change-new school, new job. I’ll be working as a Literacy Coach.  I will be doing . . . not really sure yet, but so excited for this new adventure!

It took me five months to work up the courage to start this blog, but it has opened up a whole new world for me-blog designing and a TPT store.  I'm so glad I did!

  3. Jennifer...thanks for commenting on my post because it lead me to your own blog. This is AWESOME. I just love your "Blog baby Blog" section, I have seen that button on other blogs and now I know the source! I just wanted to let you know that my husband (you know, the one I met in a hip-hop bar) is also a DIE HARD LSU fan so therefore, I must also be!:)

  5. Thanks for telling me about Grammaropolis; it was the first time I heard about it. I love finding other great techies :) Looking forward to your awesome blog! My boyfriend of over three years is also a die hard LSU fan. He is originally from Shreveport but moved to Texas as well. We go to Death Valley at least once a year and I have to admit I've never seen football fanatics like that before.
