What Does It Mean to Persevere?

After making our friendship board at the beginning of the year, I knew that I wanted to continue sharing stories and documenting their lessons.

Here are the books I used.  I think this would be an awesome board to build during a biography unit, too.  (Start with Game Changers.  It's an incredible book!)

**I used the words study hard and focus because those were the words used in the letter included in the story from Raye Montague.  We discussed how her version of study hard and focus is different from the way we typically think of it in our own classroom.

7. Be imperfectly perfect

The letters I made myself using a font from The Perfect Blend called PB Morning Java.  The letters are just a text box on top of three boxes.  You can make it in PowerPoint or download a free template here.  I used KG Blank Space on the template because it's a free font.

The signs are just two rectangles with a text box.  This is available in the free file, also, and the colors are editable.

The pictures I made by taking a picture of the book cover using the app Cam Scanner.  It fixes the distortion really nicely.  You can read more about how to use the Cam Scan app here.

I know some people get book cover images from the GoodReads website for #classroombookaday displays, so that would work, too.  I printed the covers on cardstock at about 6 inches wide.

I'm hoping to do something along the lines of being true to yourself during the next nine weeks.  Whatever it is, I'll share it here!
