December Favorites

Hey hey! Happy almost January to you.  This month has flown by.  Doesn’t it seem that way at the end of every month but most especially when there’s a holiday?  Today I’m sharing a few of my favorites from the past month with you.

Today I’m sharing a few of my favorites from the past month with you.

This Sawyer sweater from J. Crew Factory has become one of my favorites.  It’s warm but light weight, so I don’t feel like the Michelin man when I wear it.  I was super sad that I had only bought it in gray when I was at the outlet, but then I remembered you can order from J. Crew Factory online.  I ordered three more right away and a fourth that looks really similar to it.  In my defense, they were half off.  Prepare to see me in these all winter long.

There aren’t a ton of colors left, but this sassy pink is still in stock.  It would be a great way to chase a way the winter blues and a lot of fun for Valentine’s Day.

I’ve been cheating on my Kendra Scott earrings with these Kate Spade studs pretty regularly.  I won’t be retiring my Kendra any time soon, but I love these chunky studs as a great alternative.

Kate Spade Studs

You can find them in a bunch of basic and fun colors online at Dillards and Nordstrom.  My local stores have them but they are usually pretty picked over.

In my never ending effort to vinyl all the things, I stepped up my gift wrapping game this year with some vinyl monograms.  And it was amazing.  Everyone should prepare to receive monogrammed gifts from me from now on.

I won a giveaway! Plum Paper is one of my favorite paper companies.  I entered one of their 12 days of Christmas giveaways and ended up winning Day 11! This never happens to me. I won a notebook and a $50 gift card.  Ironically, I had ordered a customized notebook from them the day before winning.  Such is my life.  I will somehow rise up and force myself to buy another Plum Paper product.  #hardship

They have awesome planners, teacher planners, and notebooks.  I love how you can not only personalize the cover but also the “guts”.  You can add tabbed sections, choose from multiple layouts, pick your starting month for planners, and add on sections like blog planners or meal planning.

I gave myself a blog makeover, and I’m loving it.  I had switched over to a Blogger template from Georgia Lou Studios and was itching to give myself a little update.  I tweaked the colors a little, so they’re a little more fresh.

I could not love these templates from Georgia Lou Studios more.  If you’re wanting a more streamlined look, these templates are perfect.  The real magic is the mobile view.  It’s about a million times better than the traditional blogger template.

From the Shop {December} and a Freebie!

Hey hey! December is winding down, and we are so close to 2016 that I can’t believe it’s real.  Here’s a look at some of the new sets I added to my store and updates I made.  Can you tell I’m excited about the new year and Valentine’s Day?

I started this New Years Mini and Set and fell in love with the colors and fun hats.

The colors were too fun to limit to just New Year’s, so I made this coordinating Alden Jumbo Set.

Warning: I love Valentines Day.  Love.  Love.  Love.  I love the candy and flowers and spirit and an excuse to use an excessive amount of pink.

Here’s Amore-a jumbo set full of Valentine’s colors and patterns.

I’m kind of in love with gold right now.  Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to go on gold overload with this Ruby Mini Set.

I love this color combination.  It’s fun for Valentine’s Day but not so full on red and pink.  The candy hearts are super fun.  You can add your own text to customize them any way you want in the Candy Mini Set.

I worked on a MASSIVE update to the sets in my Mini Sets Through the Year bundle.  Each set now has 5 papers, a banner, a divider, 2 washi, and 2 frames.  If you have the bundle or any of the individual sets be sure to download them again.  **If I missed uploading the new set for any of the individual sets, just send me an email.  I was pretty loopy by the end of this!

Thanks for making it all the way through this post!  Here's a freebie to coordinate with the New Year’s Mini Set and Alden Jumbo Set.

Hope you have an amazing 2016!

Holiday Gifts for the Blogger/TPTer in Your Life

Happy holidays to you! I’m so happy to be home for the next 14 days.  With Christmas less than a week away, I’m scrambling to finish up my shopping.  Thank goodness for Amazon Prime!  Last year I shared some gift ideas for the Blogger/TPTer in your life, and I’m back this year with some more.

$10-$25

Blogging and product creation take a lot of coffee.  Lots.  It’s a little more fun when you’re sipping out of a sassy mug.  There are a ton on Etsy, and I always see cute ones in my favorite local gift shops.  Here are a few of my favorites:

You know what else TPTing takes a lot of? Clipart.  Get your TPTer a gift card to fund those purchases.

$25-50

It’s a little cold for this TPT tank right now, but you could through a cardigan over it, grab a cup of coffee in your new sassy cup, and snuggle up for some late night product making.
Or how about a customized notebook to keep all of those ideas organized? This notebook from Plum Paper starts at $12 but has tons of fun add ons like a blog planner, to do lists, and stickers.

$50-100

There’s no sadder story than a crashed hard drive.  Give your special someone the gift of security with a year’s subscription to Dropbox Pro.  Added bonus?  You can sign in on any computer and access that file you forgot you needed to email to school or a friend.

How about some space?  Our house has an office that I long ago staked my claim on, but it’s possible to create an office at home.  For a short time period my husband was officeless and occasionally working out of the home.  During the summer.  With our kids running around.  Not productive.
We managed to squeeze an office out of our guest room closet for under $100 and a lot of creative organizing.  You can read about it here or check out Pinterest for a ton of ideas.

$100 and up

HP Insta Ink is pretty much the best thing that happened to me this year.  You buy a compatible printer (some of which are nearly the same price as buying a new pack of color and black ink), sign up for a subscription starting at $3 and up a month, and never worry about ink again.

Fonts are everything.  Set your TPTer up with a lifetime font license.  Kimberly Geswein, Darcy Baldwin, and Jen Jones are just a few of the font ladies that I love.  Your TPTer will never worry about buying a font license again with a lifetime license.

Daddy Warbucks Style

One of the best surprises that has come out of blogging and Teachers Pay Teachers is the friends I’ve made.  Getting to spend time with them last year at the TPT conference as well as learning to grow my business was an amazing experience.  I can’t wait to join in again this year.

The mother of all gifts-a 27 inch iMac with retina screen.  This beauty is amazing, and I think it’s single handedly saving my eyes with its giant screen.

Whatever you are celebrating this season, I hope you have a meaningful and relaxing and relaxing holiday spent with people you love.

A New Look for Blogger & Design List is OPEN

How do you like the new look?  I’m in love with the Blogger templates (yep-it’s Blogger, not Word Press) from Georgia Lou Studios.  I love the clean look, body layout, and slider.  I do miss my multicolor arrows, turquoise border, and green banner, though.  So, why switch?

It’s the snappy slider and mobile view that really sold me.  Wordpress without a doubt crushes regular Blogger mobile view.  Regular Blogger mobile view is pretty bleh.  It doesn’t look great and barely works.  You can turn it off, but then you’re not mobile friendly.  And people use their phones just a little bit for Internet browsing.

Isn’t this mobile view a thing of beauty?  Here’s a peek at the mobile view if you’re on a computer:

I’ve already installed it for a few friends that were nice enough to let me use them for guinea pigs.  Nicole from Teaching with Style has a beautiful new design.

You can also see a demo site here:

I’ve opened my design list at A Bird in Hand Designs for January and February designs.  Here’s what’s new:

•New Blogger custom design spots (traditional Blogger template or Georgia Lou Studios templates)

•Georgia Lou Updates: Have a design from A Bird in Hand Designs and want to switch over to a new Georgia Lou Studios template?  I will create a new streamlined header based on your current design and switch your existing graphics over.

•Wordpress Designs: I am not migrating blogs right now.  I'm going to wait until summertime to offer that.  It’s pretty time consuming and not something I can fit in at night between dinner, dance class taxi service, and the usual parenting shenanigans.  So for now, I am working with bloggers who are currently on WordPress and want to update their theme OR want to set up a new Wordpress blog and migrate it themselves or have someone else do it.

This is my first time to try a big listing of dates like this, so hopefully it goes well!  Cross your fingers for me! {And please be gentle if it doesn’t.}
