Thanksgiving Freebie

It is a November miracle here in Houston.  It's 50 degrees outside, and that puts me in the Fall decorating mood.  Hard to muster that feeling when you're pushing 90 degrees, but this morning has {shockingly} crisp fall feeling.  Here's a little Thanksgiving set of printables for you:
The second graphic is an editable PowerPoint file, so you can change the last line of text.  You will need to download this free font.

I printed mine on heavy textured cream card stock from Hobby Lobby.  Pop them in frames, and you're good to go.  You have now decorated for Thanksgiving.

It's also a new month which means it's time for another Currently!  This fun linky is from Farley at Oh Boy Fourth Grade.  Hop on over to her blog to read what everyone else is up to.

Listening: How am I just now watching The Blacklist?  I zoomed through the first season on Netflix while working on blog designs.  Such a good show! But now I'm almost caught up and will have to watch like a normal person.

Loving: It was 50 degrees when I woke up this morning.  I live in Houston.  This is the equivalent of a white Christmas for everyone else.  It won't last, but I loved it!

Thinking: I'm headed to New Orleans later this month to meet up with friends from home and go to a Saints game.  CAN. NOT. WAIT.

Wanting: I need more date nights with my husband.  We went to dinner recently on a Thursday night.  Wild and crazy, right?  It was really nice.  The fancy pants business man and I need to squeeze more time in together when and where we can.  {p.s. He really hates when I call him that.  This, of course,  only encourages me to do it more.}

Needing: I try to get all of my Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving.  I'm not usually that on the ball with things {ever}, but December is crazy.  Trust me, if you do this, it will change your life.  December will just be insane instead of please kill me now, how will I get all of this done in time misery.  Also, I tell my kids they have to get their letter to Santa by November 1st or all the good stuff will be gone.

Reading: My fourth grader is reading the Harry Potter series, so I'm rereading it too.  We're watching the movie together after she finishes the book.  Loving this time with her!

Happy November!

  2. Hi Megan! I am SOO jealous you get to go to New Orleans! That will be a blast for sure! That is a great idea to get Christmas shopping done during November, and very creative of you to tell your kids to get their letters in by Nov. 1st…I may have to use that in the future! I love your creations! I will definitely be using this one in my apartment!

I hope you have a wonderful trip and good luck with all of your Christmas shopping!

  3. Thanks for the adorable freebie! It definitely sparks some Fall holiday nostalgia. Love it! Making time for Date Nights is important. I just had one with my hubby last Tuesday. One of the best nights in a long time. :)

  4. I am so jealous that 50 degrees is cold weather for you! I live in Boston, which is ridiculous in the winter. I love my city, but I'd love it more if I could live somewhere warm from December - April. :)

Thank you SO much for the freebies- you made my entire weekend!!

  6. I am a big fan of yours!!! #1- I can relate to you about the weather- here in Southern California it is in the 90s at least 2 days a week and today was the first day we have had rain since April… it rained good and hard for about 30 minutes and then went away and up to the high 80s by Wednesday. I will take what I can get my friend! I CANNOT wait to read Harry Potter with my kiddos once they are a little bit older.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and come and check out my current Currently!

  10. My husband and I have a permanent date every Friday that we never break. We always go out to dinner to decompress from the week and we go to nice restaurants, where taking out your cell phone would be highly frowned upon. Since we're both so busy, it's not only a great way to decompress, but also a great way for us to catch up with each other and enjoy being together without any distractions. I highly suggest date nights at least once a week!

You've got me thinking about Christmas shopping now, which means that It's not yet 8am and I already have a reason to procrastinate from grading papers and lesson planning…lol!

  11. Thank you for such a cute freebie! My sister just moved to Houston for grad school and hasn't quite adjusted to your weather down there...it's just a tad different than Chicago! You're one smart mamma getting your kiddies to send their lists in early! You are right, all of the good stuff does go fast!

  13. Beautiful graphics!! Love them! Printing- now. We try to have a date night at least once a week, sometimes fancy but sometimes just dinner and a movie with NO CELL PHONES! That's the hardest part!

  14. I LOVE The Blacklist! I watched the first season on Netflix too in one weekend. Normally I wait until the next season comes out but I've been DVRing it. I hate having to wait a WHOLE WEEK, haha, but at least I can fast forward through the commercials!

  15. I want to get started on Christmas shopping this month (I do a lot online the week of Thanksgiving). It's too crazy to wait until December. So jealous that you're going to New Orleans and a Saints game! We'll be down there (although not in NO) right before Christmas visiting family. How fun to reread Harry Potter with your child! We have a little ways to go before we're ready for that at my house.

  16. Oh Christmas shopping! I need to get started but really have no idea what I am shopping for this year. As your kids get older (11 and 14) it gets more challenging! I do agree with your mantra - I hate shopping close to the holidays. Good luck getting your shopping finished.
